RiverBlitz
Twice a year we survey the River for trash, invasive plants, and other issues.
You are invited to join us! Next Blitz is in April 2012. Contact us today to get involved!

 

How it Works 1) Teams are assigned to sections of the River which will take 2 -3 hours to survey. They are joined by a trained leader, so no experience is necessary. 2) Surveys record non-native plants, trash, and park problems. 3) Data is compiled into a State of the River Report which is available to the public. 4) The Report guides future Clean and Green events, projects and other actions. 5) Surveys take place in October and April. Thanks to our volunteers more than 1,300,000 lbs of trash have been removed from the San Diego River since 2004. 328,286 lbs. in the past two years alone!

Our new goal: To remove all the trash identified in the October 2011 RiverBlitz survey within 12 months! We invite you to join us and make a huge difference in San Diego. Join a clean-up
